FS2020

PreviousPage 2 of 6Next

I still think it is strange that the Learjet still is not in FS2020.
You would think of it as a tribute to Bill Gates, and it is present in most sims.

I also do think it is possible to create the Learjet by tweaking existing cfg files.
But since FS2020 is an APPX package, MS is in control of what is allowed and what not.

I will talk to some of my packaging collegues at work , how to be able to tweak this.

All,

On August 27th, Microsoft posted details of an upcoming patch. Most notably the patch will fix the FPS issue seen when using FSUIPC through simconnect.  This is a huge first step in letting us 3rd party developers back into the game. The patch is expected any day now and first on my list is to verify Jet45 performance and start adding new capability to Jet45 V2 from what the new sim has to offer.

Also, I heard from a little birdie today that someone is working on porting the FSX Learjet to 2020. As long as we are not stuck in the virtual cockpit, we should be close to a point when some of us can permanently switch over to 2020 in our sims.

I have made a feature request at Microsoft about an outside view with only scenery.
I see more questions about this in the FS 2020 forum, but no clues about how to set this as we want it yet.

I have verified that the latest patch fixes the performance issue noted with FSUIPC/SimConnect.  With the latest patch, Jet45 performance has been restored.

Roel,

Playing around with the custom camera controls, you can put the eyepoint just outside of the windshield to give you an outside view. This is a good work around until there is a better fix.

Great news on the patch that you verify works Jason!  Getting closer to our goals!

Found this on twitter today from Project magenta

Full Screen Forward View
As there is no key command to remove the aircraft's 3D cockpit, you can use this work-around.
a) For the A320, load MSFS and into the aircraft:
b) Set the view in the center and as far forward as you can go (see keyboard commands)
c) Press Ctrl-Alt-0 to save it
d) Go to X:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_(random code)\LocalCache\SimObjects\Airplanes\Asobo_A320_NEO
e) Edit the Panel.cfg to
[CAMERADEFINITION.X]
Title="0"
InitialXyz= 0.447998, 0.810238, 0.372966
Where the Z has to be changed, normally to a value 1 or two higher than the one you saved.
Reload the aircraft and press Alt-O (not Ctrl-Alt-O)

I tested this and this works, only if you have an aircraft with center window bezel , it is visible 🙁

This post is Primary for Jason.  I see you have gotten the Jet45 software to interface(connect) to MSFS 2020.  I downloaded the FSUIPC 7, and i get an error "The code execution cannot proceed because vcruntime140_1.dll was not found.  Reinstalling may fix the problem".  This doesn't have a package installer, so copying the files over to the directory a second time wont make a difference. I even copied the "vcruntime140 file to the FSUIPC folder and still, the same error.  Any suggestion?

Did you install both x86 and x64 version vcruntime ?

Are you getting this error when you start FSUIPC or Jet45?  If with Jet45, you need to install both the x86 and x64 versions of the Microsoft visual studio 2015 runtime.  Sounds like this is a new computer that you haven’t run Jet45 on before.

If you are getting errors with FSUIPC, you need to install the MSFS 2020 SDK and copy the appropriate files from the 2020 SDK to the FSUIPC folder. You can download the SDK through the FS2020 Developer menu.

Since my sim is not operational yet i did some more FS2020 testing on the several networked sim computers.
I used the Cessna Citation for testing and , indeed the Jet45 software runs smooth on a networked PC with the beta FSUIPC7.
Mobiflight also has a FS2020  update, this also works!

I am amazed , apart from the accuracy as a sim , FS 2020 runs very smooth on my 3 years old pc with i5 processor and Gforce GTX 1060 3gb videocard!
After the latest patch, even flying over NYC runs smooth now.
(Prepar3d v5 won't run on it anymore due to videocard mem )
What is a pitty my home airport EHEH isn't available in FS2020, weird it is the second airport of the Netherlands .

So, hope the Lear45 aicraft will be available soon...and i will use FS2020 for my Lear45 sim.
