Sim Update and Jet45 Offset Questions

Hi,

As you know, I am building a desktop cockpit. I still am going to use Jet45 and Dave Aults instruments to "fly" a Lear 45. I'm using the Perfect Flight Lear 45 aircraft as it is compatable with P3DV4 and MSFS 2020.

I have used Alan Norris' Pokeys documentation to understand the FSUIPC Offsets and coding. He, however, had his ECIAS buttons coded to use the MDF 2 offset and bits.

May I assume that if I'm using the same screen location to switch between MFD and ECIAS, I would use the MFD 1 offset and bits for buttons 1 thru 6 for both MFD and EICAS?

I am using PFD 1 and its Offsets.

Reading thru the offset documentation there is an offset for Reversion - 0x73FB with a bit for Normal (0) and Reversion (1).

May I assume this switches between the MFD and ECIAS?

I have added 3 buttons to the EFIS - 1 each for Warning, Caution and switching between MFD/ECIAS.

Thanks for your input.

Hi Dave,

I certainly understand the space restraint issue.  I think we all do to a degree.  I wish my sim room was twice the size it is but even if it was half the size it is now, I would still find a way to squeeze a full complement of Display Units in the MIP.

You assume correctly in both questions above.  But just to add a few lines for clarification, the reversion offset swaps the EICAS on DU2 with the MFD on DU3.  It does not look like you have a third or even a forth DU so at best, you will be swapping DU2 with a phantom third display unit which I have never seen done before.  I imagine it is possible if you have the third DU set up even if it is not being displayed.  Please let us know how that goes and we would love to see photos or even a short video of that when you get it up and running.

(Side note, if you get some free time, you might want to take the majority of your post above and copy it into a post in your build thread so that your build progress does not get lost in the Jet45 support forum.)

Hi Ron,
I edited the above. Was more of a reason for the questions than a "real" update. But will add to the other forum.

As an ex-programmer and software designer I must ask Jason if a DU3 is required for a DU2 to perform a "Reversion". It can be programmed either way. Have MDF 2 open as an EICAS  to change to an MDF and change MDF 1 to EICAS? Or, when the bit is changed from 0 to 1, switch whatever is open to the opposite?
