Marco Lamanna's Lear45 Project

(Original thread started on 01-08-13 by Marco Lamanna)

Hello everybody, this is my first post (except the one in Welcome section) and I'd like to show my little "in progress" project. As I said in my welcome post, my lear45 is very similar to Dave Ault's one...because I took a lot of inspiration looking into his website and getting many good tips.!

This is my general project:

Marco 1

and this is my target cockpit (google sketchup project):

Marco 2

Finally my actual state of building:

Marco 3

So, I built the wooden structure and the front panel. Switches are not linked yet. I have a lot of work to do but I hope that with the help of this community, I'll achieve my target soon.

Looking good. I've used the SAITEK panels since day one and I actually still use one of them for my FGC and it works great! Best of luck on your build.

Hello everybody. I opened a new blog for my project. Finally it is multi language!

UPDATE:  just a little update about my project. I wired up buttons and LEDs of my MORSE CODE panel (my first try)

In my website you can find the details:

Marco, what software are you using as the RMUs are not the ones from JET45?

(Posted by Marco Lamanna on 03-21-13)

Hello Alan, the panel is the default Lear45. I used it just for testing. To manage the radio stack I'll use Saitek panel and perhaps Dave Ault's software as glass cockpit.  I discover JET45 freeware gauges recently but have not tested them yet but I think I'll give them a try. They look good!

UPDATE:  Just an update from my website:

http://en.mylearjet45.net/2013/03/wirings-and-ledsits-just-begin.html

My front panel is taking shape! My first completed panel, details on my website:

And here is the video about test:

For switches, I use standard push buttons which I bought on eBay. These push buttons have LEDs inside.  As indicator lights I use stripe LEDs pasted to the back of a white-transparent piece of plastic.

Next step will be testing startup procedures. Stay tuned....

Wow Marco, I looked at your slide show and I guess you like wiring a lot. I guess if we need any help with circuit boards Marco the man. The panels look neat in the dark. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Randy, I'm a real novice in this kind of work. This is my first experience in building something which is not a piece of software. So I'm very interested in comments and suggestions from you guys.

I completed all the front panel and center pedestal. I'm ready to startup engines!

http://en.mylearjet45.net/2013/04/engine-startup.html

I started to assembly the glass cockpit panel:

UPDATE:  We joined the IVAO Stress Test Event Friday 17/05.  Here is the story: http://en.mylearjet45.net/2013/05/ivao-stess-test-event-out-test-flight.html

And here is the video:

UPDATE:  I revisited my startup procedure, writing a new piece of SIOC snippet.

I built a cloche holder:

UPDATE:  I was able get the taxi and landing lights to work properly thanks to an useful post I found on this forum: http://en.mylearjet45.net/2013/09/little-summer-update-lights.html

Hey Marco, your Taxi lights looks great! Could you do me and the others a favor and post what you did in the taxi light thread what you had to do to get yours working in FSX? I just read through the entire thread and it looks like there are at least four different ways to make the taxi lights work to some degree or another. At this point, I am still wondering what is the best way to go about it. I am ready for some taxi lights!

Thanks Marco!

WOW! The lights look great and I would love to have mine look that way. Would like to know how it’s done. I using FS9 hopefully the process would be the same.

Thank you guys! I decided to write a post on my blog about the installation of taxi lights on default learjet 45:

I hope you will appreciate it. Feel free to ask me any question about it.

Just a little update about my glass cockpit:
