Navy Dave's Lear45 Cockpit Progress

(Original thread started on 09-08-16 by Dave Simmons)

My Lear is not like most of yours. It doesn't have to be exact but would like to have a flyable cockpit "very similar" to the production Lear only with one seat. As I am retired, I don't have many years or lots of bucks to invest.

I finished my first panel. CNCed, Laser engraved, etc. I have mentioned before, I am using Pokeys cards (easy to program with Lua) with a card at a panel or groups of panels. With 55 pins and common ground at $40-$60 each, it is flexible and cost effective. In addition, reduces the number of wires to the firewall. Let's try the embed of the photos:

This is a shot of the cockpit - much work to do. The main view is a 32" HD 1080p monitor and will have two side view monitors. The three monitors for the MIP are displayed from the Client PC using WideClient:

The following is the uninstalled MIP. As my client gave up the ghost, I decided on two new PCs running Windows 7 64 bit. Also installed is FSX Steam which works very well and I had issues with the cockpit in Prepar3D. I purchased refurbished Dell Optiplex each with a quad processor at 3.9 GHz. I have to reinstall the gauges and align again on the monitors. That is why I hadn't installed the MIP:

Hey Dave, your project looks fantastic and very glad to help with the Photobucket issues. Once you know how to do it you will be posting photos all the time.

From the looks of things, you will have an operational cockpit in no time at all. And like all of us, the project is never complete. You may find yourself going back and remaking a part or panel here or there. One day I plan to redesign all of my panels and replace the ones I currently have.

Looking forward to seeing your progress!
