Hey Roel, I have watched several of Russ Barlow's videos, but I have not seen this one yet. This is a very interesting and useful application for guys popping out their displays and moving them to other monitors or PCs. Have you had a chance to try this yet? I am curious if the performance will hold up on the Server PC with several popout displays like what we are doing along with generating the outside visuals. One thought that comes back to me is if there is a performance hit on the main Server PC, we could set up a "clone" Server PC that would be running a second copy of MSFS2020/2024 where it's only job would be to stream popout window data to remote monitors on other PCs. This would free up the main Server PC to focus solely on the outside visuals. This was an idea we had back when we thought we might have to run a "hybrid sim" running MSFS2020 on the main Server PC for the outside visuals and P3D on a secondary Server PC to run the Lear45 model. Thankfully it looks like we are past that best bad idea at the time! (Just doing a little thinking outside the box.) Hi Ron I did some brief tests; Running MSFS 0n one PC and the client version on another (poor specs PC) Russ Barlow also mentioned this in his video; the other popout managers take more resources then this one. This glassout software is also easier to automate to popup on the right position on remote PC's. So this seems great for home cockpit building! This all does performs good.
It is a bit, what Russ also mentions, like the Airmanager streaming option (Only available for Xplane)
The other MSFS popout manager is more of a hassle and uses more tooling like the spacedesk I have tested.
