Lear 45 Engine Start

Hi folks,
As a reminder, I am running the FSX Lear on P3D V4.5.

Is a significant delay normal when starting the engines? I don't want to use any new buttons until I test with a keyboard.

Ctl+E starts all engines but one must hold the starter down and the engines take a long time.

E+1 and E+2 starts each individually but seems to cycle on and off at least twice before an engine winds up to idle.

In the fleet, an engine only 10 to 15 seconds to wind to idle but other attached components take longer.

Do you all use a different aircraft.cfg or air file than the stock FSX aircraft? What events and/or elements do you use with the start and ignition buttons? Or please send me to a discussion on the start procedures and technology.

Thanks.

Hi Dave,

There are a couple threads related to engine start issues.

Take a look at:

https://hangar45.net/hangar-45-forum/topic/engine-start-and-fuel-cutoff-issue

https://hangar45.net/hangar-45-forum/topic/engine-start-switches-sticking-in-fsx

Are you aware that the forums have a search function at the top right corner of the forum block?  Type in a couple key words like "engine start" and these threads pop up.  It is a wonderful tool and I use it all the time.

Anyway, take a look there and you will see that the engines not starting up in a timely manor is a long time problem.  The first thing that comes to mind is if you have your fuel cut off, the engines will not start.  And if I recall correctly, there is not an offset that is clearly labeled "fuel cutoff", it is called something else.

(Mixture_N Lean for cut off and Mixture_N Rich for idle)  Take a look at those threads and see if you are missing something in the engine start up sequence.
