JET45 AAS Frequently Asked Questions

(Original thread started on 09-09-09 by Eric Tomlin)

JET45 AAS F.A.Q.

Q. Can JET45 AAS be ran on a single computer with the flight simulator?

A. Yes, it is possible to run it on the server where FSX/P3D is installed but performance may be limited. It is highly recommended to run the suite on a network for optimum performance!

Q. Is a CDU/FMS included in this package?

A. No, however, a FMS package is available at Flightdecksoft that is specifically designed to work with the Jet45 AAS. In the real world, the LJ45 has the CDU/FMS listed as a customer option. See the User Guide for detailed information.

Q. Is a complete Flight Guidance Controller (Autopilot) component included in this package?

A. Currently a complete FGC is in the works! However, at this time the package works perfectly well with the default autopilot and also includes the Flight Director Transfer (XFR) functionality to offer the user the ability to have the aircraft fly lateral navigation per the navigation source selection made through the EFIS.

Q. Are there plans to add a Weather Radar module?

A. The Weather Radar component will be considered depending on future demand of the base package.

Q. Is there a demo available for the software before I purchase?

A. Yes. The demo will be unlimited for 15 days after you install it. This gives the user plenty of time to determine how well the package performs on their hardware as well as shows off the elegance of the suite!  You can find the software and demo  HERE

Q. Can this package be used with non Learjet45 aircraft?

A. Certainly!

Q. Will a touch screen monitor work with the Jet45 Avionics Suite?

A. Yes, it sure will! However, some things may be difficult when the component is a rotary vs. just a button, like for example on the EFIS Display Controllers.

Q. Does this package work with FS9, FSX and all versions of P3D?

A. Yes! There are some minor difference between the way FS9 and FSX/P3D work but JET45 AAS simply displays the data the way the simulator feeds it.  It was recently tested with P3D v4.0!

Q. Do I have to buy a license for each machine the suite is installed on?

A. No, when you purchase the software each component will have a registration associated with it, but it is designed to run on a network.

Q. Can the display bezels be turned off on each component?

A. YES! The display bezels are there for users who have not got hardware interfaced and need something graphical to click on to get the full functionality of the software. The PFD, MFD, and RMUs all have an option in the .ini file to turn off or on the bezels.

Q: Is there an option to turn the artwork bezels OFF around the DU's and the RMU's?

A: Yes, this is an option in the . Ini file. You can also turn off the window frames by pressing the 'F' key while the window is active.

Special Notice:

EFIS.exe- Do not run the JET45 EFIS.exe AND have your hardware interfaced/using the EFIS offset at the same time. The EFIS.exe is simply there for the users who have no hardware to handle EFIS functions and need something to click on. EFIS functions are still available even without the EFIS.exe running, but it's just a visual component and will cause offset issues if it's running while you are using hardware to control EFIS functions. Having both running essentially confuses the components because the hardware and the software are writing offsets on top of each other.

Don't forget that per the User Guide a requirement of the package to run is to have the latest version of .NET Framework from Microsoft!
