RMUS and Ault Instruments

Hi Jason,

I'm not sure why but I have Demo RMUs in the AAS package. I have had the Jet45 AAS installed for some time on the C:/ drive. Obviously from several posts, I have used the PFD and MFD (I put their monitor as #1) and everything works fine. I found a way to force the 9" monitor to 1600 x 900. And the backup instruments are fine.

The MFD/PFD monitor is #1, 9" #2 and the desktop is #3. I'm having 2 problems.

1. The RMUS are Demo versions. Don't know how they got mixed in with the other non-Demo AAS instruments.

2. If I shut down the PC, the MFD and PFD start in the right position just fine. The backup instruments start on the desktop monitor and must move them to their sim position. Awkward when the MIP is installed. Looked thru the instructions, don't see any input.

Just about to install the FMC. Had to take apart the console to change the VGA cable.

Thanks

Hey Dave,

Jason will be along to answer your first question about the RMU demo mode issue.

As to your second issue, if you are still "hot swapping" your single desktop monitor between your two or three computers, I can see why you would have issues with gauges remembering where they are suppose to be saved.  Every time you unplug your desktop monitor from the computer where you are keeping your standby gauges, you are changing your video configuration settings.  Until you get another desktop monitor or two if you have a third computer, you will continue to see issues like this.

You wrote: "The MFD/PFD monitor is #1, 9" #2 and the desktop is #3."  So every time you unplug your desktop monitor, your #2 monitor becomes your desktop monitor which was #3, therefor, your gauges are only repopulating where they think they belong.

I took a minute and confirmed that the standby gauges have a self saving function that does not appear to be documented in the instructions.  Move and set the gauges exactly where you want to move them and when you properly close the windows, it saves the placement and size settings.  When you reopen the gauges, they will be where you last had them.  If you UNPLUG ANY OF YOUR MONITORS, be prepared to go find and re save your gauges.

I hope this helps!

Thanks Ron,

I am no longer changing the monitor. Thanks

Jason, I reinstalled Jet45 and it replaced the Demo RMU. Thanks.
