Newbies, Newbies everywhere! (Jeff Peters)

(Original thread started on 02-07-15 by Jeff Peters)

Hi everybody!

My name is Jeff and I am new to this group. I used to fly 172s but sadly no longer current (life gets in the way), however I have never lost the itch to fly or fly more complex aircraft. I work in the telecommunications field but have been kicking around the idea of a full blown sim for a number of years and after visiting this site numerous times, getting more excited with each visit I finally emailed Eric and asked some questions. I didn't really expect much of a response as experience has taught me I will probably get a cold standard email reply, vague on details accompanied with an insincere welcome. Instead, what I got was a super informative and genuinely welcoming email from both Eric and Ron, no sugar coating, just telling me what's involved, the approximate costs, time frame, etc.

From my research I knew this was going to be a big project but it is because of Eric and Ron that I finally took the plunge and purchased a shell kit to be shipped up to Alberta. (I'm working on it as we speak).

Ron and Eric impressed me greatly and look to be terrific ambassadors to this community...hobby...way of life. I have read the posts of other members when I first joined and can see the passion and commitment you all have for this project. Because of this, I am inspired to build, and help others build and I look forward to meeting and talking to all of you.

Thanks for having me!

Hi Jeff, Let me be the first to officially welcome you to the hangar! You can not go wrong with your approach to this project and hobby. It sounds like you have put a lot of thought into it and it also sounds like you have the passion which is very important!

Your going to love the process of watching your Lear45 come together and your going to end up with a sim that you will be proud of, love flying and sharing with family and friends. Again, welcome to the hangar community and looking forward to seeing your sim photos. Soon you will need to start a build thread under the "Project Updates & Media" forum.

Hey Jeff, you got that right. You will most of the time get more help then you need. I made a comment on your build before I have said Welcome. Sorry about that. As you say life goes on. Anyway we are here to help.
