Bryant's Learjet 45 sim update!

It's been a while since I posted to the forum, so here an update on how my project is coming along.  I had some really difficult times with getting the RMU's and DU's interfaced, but I be damn if I didn't successfully get the Arduino Mega 2560 board talking to the  Jet45 software. At the end of my post, you'll find a youtube link to see a video on it's functionality.  Also, if anyone would like to use the Arduino board in their project, send me your email address and I'll send you instructions on how to interface it to Jet45.  The only issue I seem to be having right now is with the MFD components, for some reasons the offsets assigned to the  various buttons do not work.  If I use one of the standard FSUIPC offsets, I can somewhat get them to work, but not the way they're suppose to function.  Other than that, everything seems to function as designed.  I'm am so pleased to be able to use the Arduino card instead of the more expense Pokeys card.

Wow Bryant,  you are really moving along with your Lear45 sim!  Looking good!

So are you using the Pokeys at all in your project at this point?  If so, you are ahead of the curve, Congrats!  This is the path that we will all be taking in the near future.

Keep the updates and photos coming!

Hey Ron,

Well, I was using the Pokeys card until it died on me sad to say, so I sent it back for a refund.  Good thing I did, because it forced me to work on the Arduino card, and it's working perfectly on the RMUs and the PFD, not so good on the MFDs though, as the offsets doesn't seem to work.  As I mentioned, I'm able to get some of the preset FSUIPC offsets to work.  They're working chinkie at best.  I believe the offsets are set at X73F8, and a parameter of 1.  I'm finishing up my Hydro panel, I just need to print a few more caps and wire up the switches and AMLs to the FDS board.

Hey Bryant,

As I said before, you are way ahead of the curve and glad to hear you were able to return the Pokeys.  As for the MFD issues, Jason is working on that to work specifically with the Arduinos.  When it is complete, your sim will run super smooth.  Until then, you might be able to fiddle with it enough to get it working but if not, help is on the way!

(I fixed your Avatar photo by the way)

Ron,

Yes, I will play around with the offsets for the MFD until Jason can come up with a permanent solution.  I noticed when I posted my Avatar, it was oriented 90 degrees off, so I appreciate ya correcting that.  I hope your enjoying your retirement, and I'll keep everyone updated on my sim.
