WX Radar Request Discussion

PreviousPage 2 of 2

I was just thinking about Windows 7 to 10 migration before I get into interfacing. I have seen some inexpensive options using memory stick with upgrade file on it that should accept your current key but in our case I wonder if it wouldn’t be safer to go with a fresh install rather than update.

I would definitly go for a fresh install.
Upgrading is possible, but you will upgrade windows 7 legacy with it.
It's better to install a clean W10 .
After this W10 semi annual updates will be no problem.

Well here is something to celebrate.

The just released Lockheed Martin 'chat' at FSElite talking about the upcoming Version 5 of P3D.

I will quote the salient points

Additionally, the backing data in this weather system will allow new capabilities like high-fidelity weather radars to be created.

By default, v5 does not offer real-world weather, however, our Software Development Kit (SDK) supports all the required interfaces to permit integration of real-world weather. We look forward to seeing what third parties create using our open architecture.

In addition, backwards compatibility is very important to us.

Damn it. a fight between P3Dv5 and FS2020.

I can see three 4K projectors needing to be budgetted for !

I can see them in the divorce settlement now.

Exciting times ahead and us Learjet-ers are in the box seat. I've told you many times before. we can land where the big guys can't, which drastically increases the available airports.

A WX radar would be a lovely addition now that we've been given a chance, at least with P3D.

A maximum ceiling of about 51,000 ft is alot of weather to utilise the radar.

Bring it on.

Cheers
