A Place for the Learjet Simulator Builder

Hangar 45

Exclusive Interview with Hangar 45 member Shane Barnes

A Most Fortunate Builder

An interview with sim builder Shane Barnes by Eric Tomlin, Hangar 45

Anyone who visits Hangar 45 very often knows that there are a handful of guys who are working on Learjet 45 projects that go far beyond what the average sim builder hopes to accomplish one day with their build. Some builders are limited by time and money, others by space available- and then you have some builders that may be happy to have a decent representation of the aircraft they are simulating. Then you have Shane Barnes. Shane had the good fortune of obtaining the vast majority of interior liner pieces from a real LJ45 (along with some other parts) and the story of his project and how it came about is very unique among fellow LJ45 builders.

In June of 2010, I had the pleasure of interviewing friend and fellow Learjet 45 sim builder Shane Barnes for an exclusive feature for Hangar 45. The following is the exchange between Shane and me.
