Here is a quick tutorial on updating the FMS data in Jason's software for the CDU once the CDU software is released from testing.

First go to the Navigraph site located here.

https://www.navigraph.com/FmsDataManager.aspx

Create an account with a user name and password. Next download the installer located on the link above. It should be listed as Manager 1.2.0 for windows. Download the installer to the computer where you have the JET45 CDU software downloaded. Next you will need to purchase a subscription. You can purchase a 30 day subscription for as little as 5.90 EURO or a whole year for around 21 EURO (I forgot the exact amount on the yearly) One note here . . they do have a subscription that includes access to paper charts and it costs quite a bit more. I did not see a need for this and will most likely purchase a quarterly update in the future that will allow me to update my data four times a year.

After downloading the manager you may have to login again. Once the manager is running, look for a selection near the top right of the manager screen that says "SCAN". Click this button. This will scan and find the JET45 installation. Once it has found JET45 you will see a box appear with "JET45 FMS-FlightDeckSoft" You will notice a small check box in this area. Select this box by clicking it.

After clicking the box you should see a selection that says "update". Click this selection and the manager should start an update of the cycle. You will see a light blue progress wheel working showing the amount of progress on updating. The update will take approximately 5 minutes to download the new AIRAC cycle data. Once completed you will see a green box with the new AIRAC cycle number and revision. Once completed your AIRAC cycle has been updated and you are ready to fly.

This was a very easy install and update to complete. Thank you Jason for taking the time to contact Navigraph and having this feature installed making it very easy to update the AIRAC data. You will appreciate the ability to update the cycle if you are using an APP like FOREFLIGHT or other similar apps that are available for FSX/P3D.

Thank you Jason for doing this! And thanks to Shane for the tutorial.

I was able to update my FMS NAV database in less than five minutes. The one thing that I would like to see is evidence in the FMS that it has updated. I have not had a chance to even fire up the sim let alone the FMS software but as soon as I do I will update this post.

But as far as the update process goes, it could not have gone smoother. And I did it a little different than the way Shane had it out lined which is more evidence that it should be hassle free for everyone.
