Jet45 AAS V1.0.0.4 - Bug Fix and Requests

(Original thread started on 12-19-12 by Jason Hite)

Please submit all bugs and feature requests for the current version of Jet45 in this thread.

Current issues we are working on:

1. Sticky FSUIPC offsets

2. Some users report that modules stop responding and gray out after some use

Hey Jason, I can't thank you enough for taking on this software project and making it happen! So far the only thing that I have found or observed is the FLAPS positions for 8 and 20 degrees for some reason registers 9 and 21 in the Jet45 software.

UPDATE:

This issue is resolved but requires a minor tweak in the aircraft cfg file. If your using Jet45 AAS you have probably noticed that the flaps indicate 0, 9, 21 and 40 degrees. The 9 should indicate 8 and the 21 should be 20. To fix this, go into your aircraft cfg file and change your 8 to 7.5 and your 20 to 19.5. For more information on this issue, click HERE

Not sure if it's just me but- RMU swap frequencies usually needs to be pressed 2 or 3 times before the swap will "stick"

Working like a champ here! I'm starting to notice several things I hadn't before. Anyone else notice that the amp draw even changes with loading (i.e flaps down) Love seeing things I hadn't before.

On the note of modules not responding- this may help out. My F/O MFD routinely shows up with an error log not found message then stops working completely. Re-oping often restores it to operation, but so far, I have been forced to re-copy the files into that directory to rectify. This only happens on startup (I have all module shortcuts in the startup folder). It almost seems like it gets "corrupted". Anyhow, hope this helps. If others have MFD issues, I've found just replacing all files except the .cfg seems to remedy the situation.

On the note above- It almost seems like the freeze during operation is related to TCAS. I have noted targets disappearing/reappearing since I began using the software but it tends to be no issue- unless I change ranges etc during this glitch then it seems to cause a lockup. If I was to guess an area to look at for a bug- I'd look at the TCAS first, but this is only a "hunch". My majority of flights have no issue, but when it does, it gets grumpy.

I also don't have much luck changing TCAS from above/below etc. I've only been able to toggle this once (but maybe I was dreaming).

That's very strange. No TCAS issues on this end and the Above/Normal/Below functions perfect for me, but then again that's what makes it a bug, right?! Jason will see this soon.

Well that's good to know it's working fine for you. I'll investigate a bit further. Truth be told- I thought I had my issue remedied a few days back when I found a file path in the .cfg had a semicolon instead of a colon. I didn't have any troubles for several flights but it started again.

Nothing in my post is a panic, just wanted to share in case the info is similar to the "modules greyed out" When my DU3 locks up if I click on it with the mouse- it will grey. But again- this is not all the time- only when the log error pops up on startup.

I'm going to play with the TCAS more now that I know it should be working fine.

I have also found the PFD minimums encoder offset does not seem to affect Jet45. This is separate from the issue noted above. I tried changing the value in all the settings above (which are working for me) and I can get no change to the JET45 display- it stays stuck at 200.

I still can't get the TCAS mode to change for me either- odd. Anything special you are doing to make this work? I am currently using version 1.0.0.4 EICAS and MFD Build 203, PFD Build 212 of Jet45.

Thanks for that Eric. We are currently up to build 230 of the MFD/EICAS and build 231 for the PFD in our beta testing. These builds, once released will address the issues you are seeing with the Encoder offset and button offsets. We did notice some sticky offsets for the MFD/EICAS buttons that we are working to relocate.

I have tried to resize and move the bezel-less (and frameless) displays using the indicated commands but it did not work for me. I put the frame on again to resize and move the displays, but when the frame is turned off again the displays change size and move. In the end I had to do trial and error adjustments in the .ini file. I personally like the way Dave has implemented these functions with his standby gauges.

Regarding the .ini files, the requirement to show the path to itself seems a little superfluous. The only thing I can see a real need for adjusting in the .ini files is the location of the flight plans.

I had some trouble with this, this past weekend. But it did work. It seems a window can get screwed up though and this part I haven't figured out yet. It's like the size of the window is relevant to how much or little you have 'zoomed' the object ( in this case the frameless, windowless RMU). The right one I have like a 1/8" to 1/4" black border around the RMU graphics. This fine, but I have over a inch around the pilot RMU. It was cutting off the graphics when positioning or scaling. I finally figured out to zoom out (make it way smaller) then resize my window, then turn off the window border then position and scale.

If Jason or Eric could expound on that or how to reset it to the default size, that would be great. Not sure how mine got screwed up, but have it pretty close now.

Terry, I left the bezel off, window frame on, positioned roughly, then turn off the window frame then using the keys, position to suit. Hope it helps.

Not sure if this is a bug or just not implemented yet but activating the fuel XFLOW switch functions okay as a yellow FUEL XFLOW message appears in the FSX EICAS but not on the JET45 one. There again FSX EICAS display doesn't show EMER/PARK BRK or END either.

(Posted by Eric Tomlin on 05-10-13)

This has not been implemented to-date. If it is, it will be displayed as "FUEL XFLO"

On the RMU Backup NAV Page the compass rose numbers and direction letters are reversed in the southern hemisphere. I have just worked out that us pilots in Australia are really flying from 'Down Under'. We are all meant to fly in reverse to you chaps in the North! Is this possibly a Jet45 glitch?

(Posted by Eric Tomlin on 02-19-14)

Let me check on that. Never noticed it but I do not use that page much. Give me some time and thanks!

(Posted by Will Sasse on 02-21-14)

I finally had time to check my systems, and I have the same issue with the reversed compass rose on the RMU NAV page. Perhaps it doesn't like being upside-down down here?

(Posted by Mark Speechley on 02-21-14)

Thanks Eric. And thanks to Will for confirming that you and I, Terry and Jeff are all flying upside down and backwards!

UPDATE!

Eric, as per your instructions to download the updated MFD file re: the Flight plan issue, I downloaded the whole Jet45 file and re-installed. Didn't notice any file date changed but maybe it's not meant to?

Whilst flying tonight I ended up using the instrument that no-one uses, the Backup NAV page on the RMU. The compass rose is still in reverse. Would you mind just giving Jason a reminder? Apologies if it is done and therefore I may not have updated the files to the right directory.

Just got a message from him where he stated: "Oh! That's an old one that's slipped through the cracks in my mind!" I anticipate an update soon, so you guys may sit tight for a little while as I hope he will fix that compass issue.

UPDATE:

Hi Mark, and everyone else. Jason has updated JET45 and You will be able to simply re-download the modules and install over your existing files. Save you .ini files. Thanks and sorry for the delay!
