Hello from Mt.Sterling Kentucky (Shane Barnes)

(Original thread started on 11-30-08 by Shane Barnes)

Hello all, my name is Shane Barnes and I live in Central Kentucky. I found your site thru Project45.us, as I have followed Ron's cockpit project for several months. I am very new to the flight sim community and started a generic enclosed cockpit build about three months ago:

However, I soon discovered that the King Air flight deck has very little support. I decided that I would not be able to achieve the level of detail that I wanted with the King Air.  When I found Ron's site and followed the links to Eric and Joe's site, I felt that I had found a flight deck that would offer the level of detail that I hope to achieve. I am currently in the planning stage of the build and hope to purchase the cockpit in early 2009, and later add the panels from Joe's site.

I'm looking forward to many new friendships in the flight sim community, and hopefully over time can contribute what I learn to others.

Shane

Welcome to our crazy world Shane.   I wish you much success.  Just take it one step at a time and before you know it you will be cruising at 40,000 feet in your own cockpit!

Regards,
Scott

Hi Shane, I am happy to hear that my project and I have had an influence on your choice to build the Lear45!  We are also looking forward to making you one of our club members once you start building your project.

You will find more than enough technical information here to build your Lear45 beyond your wildest dreams!  These guys blow me away with the knowledge they have and are willing to share with everyone.  Take care and see you in the hanger!

Shane! Thanks for joining us here at the forum! It's good to see our numbers grow and I'm excited that you plan on getting started with some very good products- the Ron Rollo shell and the Innovative Panel Set.

By the way, I love the King Air and that would most likely be my next project after completing the Learjet 45 over the next couple of years. Here in a couple of months, my project will see a huge update with me completing my shell and enclosure along with receiving Joe's panels.

Anyhow, we want to see pictures of your progress and look forward to adding you to the member profile one day!

Thanks guys for the warm welcome!  It is amazing how quick one can get hooked, or should I say addicted to cockpit building.

Shane

Hi Shane,

Ron mentioned you may want to sell some of your V1 panels as you are switching to V2. I would be interested in some of them.

Engine Start / Fuel

Hydraulic / Gear

Electric

Crew Lighting

and, if I can afford it, System Test

My email is dhsimm4021@gmail.com.  Please let me know what you are selling and the cost.

BTW, I live 3 hours south of you near Knoxville. As my wife's family is from Canada, we have passed thru Lexington several times. The last time returning last year, we stayed 2 nights and a day just out of curiosity.

Very nice city.

Thanks,

Dave Simmons

Hi Shane,

I posted to you about 3 months ago and sent an email. Are you not building any longer? Are you upgrading to Jet45 V2?

Would appreciate an answer!
