FMS v1.2 Support

Just saw today that the download for the FMS software shows a 1.2 exe file...I think I have 1.1 installed.

Is there any changelog for the update? Can't install the exe at the moment due to vacations...

Thanks guys!

Chris

Hi Chris,

v1.2 includes a fix for the autopilot turning the wrong direction on legs that run north to south.  Also a few spelling correction in the text.  Minor update.

Hi Jason,

thx a lot for this quick reply  😎

Short additional question...are you still working on the FMS software? Can we expect further updates in the future?

Regards,

Chris

Quote from DrDave:

A couple of questions.

1. What other apps need to be running for the FMS app to show the screen? I open the FMS by itself and it remains blank. Of course I haven't read all the documentation yet.

2. Is there any output on error or messages. My CDU has a red and yellow led. Red is for fail, yellow is a warning or message.

3. How do I get the ECIS to display. Does it take 2 instances of the MDF with the .ini set? Again sorry if I haven't read the AAS document yet, it is long and I haven't printed it yet. Waiting on ink.

Hi Dave,

I can't answer the FMS question in full the way Jason can but to help us all  keep track of all our information here in the Hangar, we need to make sure we are keeping specific content in the correct forum threads.  As an example, your questions about the FMS in the Saitek Yokes thread has been moved here. Otherwise, this information will get lost and become confusing for new guys reading through these threads.

As for your questions, you really must read the Jet45 AAS documentation first.  You will still have many questions but at least you will have a good understanding of how all the modules work and interface with one another.  I will be the first to admit I struggled with it at first, but my interfacing skills at the time were subpar.

Dave,

Please take some time to read the manual.  I'm like you with new software and like to just fire it up and figure my way through.  IF you can see the keypad on the screen and it looks like this without the text, you simply need to click the ON/OFF/DIM button on the display and it will come to life.

IF it looks like just a black rectangle, you may have it running in hardware mode and need to set hardware_mode:no in the ini configuration file.  Please have a read through the manual, as it should answer most of your startup questions and really help troubleshooting. In particular it shows you how to enable the debug mode screen.  There are no indicator lights on the UNS FMS.

For the Jet45 EICAS display, same deal. You have to setup the configuration files to "tell" the software what mode to run in, EICAS, or MFD mode.  In the manual.

Most helpful. Thanks, Jason.

I have too many manuals to go thru. FSUIPC, Pokeys, Arduino, P3D V4, CNC, etc. etc. etc.

Anytime I can discuss it cuts thru the examples, which don't tie to real examples showing the interaction. Self mapping it takes a long time.

If I can shorten the time to understand, I will. You all have been at this for a long time and take understanding for granted.

Those of us that are new or starting over again (unless they have built already) need time and help to absorb it all.
