aml switches and interface boards

I know at one time I saw the spec sheets but having difficulty locating them now.  How many aml switches do we need for the sim both momentary and latching? And while I'm at it, what interface boards are recommended?  I was looking at the FDS SYS boards. At this point I could careless about costs and looking for speed of completion.  Wife is starting to give me some grief that I'm still tinkering with the sim still and not finished.

Hey Steve,

You can find 99% of what you need right here:

As for interface cards, we are working to switch over from the Pokeys57U to using Arduino Mega and Arduino Nano cards for the avionics.  What is not going to change is the FDS SYS cards that we recommend.  You can find a complete break down of what I am using in my sim here:

Let me know if this helps or you have further questions.

Awesome, I was having a heck of a time trying to find that list for the AML's.

As for Arduinos, that was something I was thinking about testing. How were you going to link it into the current avionics?  With the FDS boards, they have some options.  If you had to do it again, which FDS boards would you go with?

I found a heck of a deal on AML switches. I need to verify that these prices are legit and if so I'll post them up for all to take advantage of.

We are in the early stages of forging a path for all to follow when it comes to the Arduino solution.  Keep an eye on this thread:

As for the FDS SYS cards?  I would use the ones I point to in the Avionics bay thread with the exception of purchasing a second FDS-SYS-R1X Relay Board.  There is a lot more hardware logic to interface than we originally thought.  It can be done with one relay card but would be much easier if you had a left relay card and a right relay card.

In a nut shell, everything you see in the Avionics bay thread with the exception of the Pokeys56U.  Those three Pokeys cards will be replaced with about seven Arduinos cards.

I am in the process of rebuilding my sim.  I am calling it 2.0 and just about everything is getting reworked in an effort to fine tune some earlier best bad ideas and to also map out a path to make it easier for other to follow.  Of course technology is always changing so whatever we come up with will become obsolete in a couple years!  But with that said, things are getting easier and faster!

cool.  I'm no stranger to Arduino programming so that will be awesome going that route.  I just bought out all of the AML switches I found, so I'm just waiting for those to come in. Once the backer boards come in I'll be ahead of the game for the most part. Just getting excited and anxious to have this fine machine complete so I can get back to flying.  I've swore off Flight Sim until it's complete and the bug to fly has been bad.
