A Lear45XR Expert Point of View

PreviousPage 2 of 2

Hey Dugald,

Your help in our club is greatly appreciated.  I guess speaking for myself and others, we are a strange group.  We really like knowing stuff like do certain lights come on when you push certain buttons.  I would guess for you running the same check list becomes part of the work you do. An important part for sure, for me it is just cool to make sure all the stuff works before we go flying.  Hey Shane,  the USB port was interesting to me as well.  I was using an iPad in the cockpit 10 years ago when it was frowned upon as being unsafe.  So today it is convenient.  So thank you so much Dugald for showing us a peek into the real world of the Lear45.

Dugald Boyd has provided us two "Lear45 Engine Startup" videos.  One point of view is from the Captain's seat and the other is an outside view.  Check them out!

Perfect videos of what a Lear45 engine startup is like and what it sounds like while standing outside.

Dugald has also taken the time to record the many sounds, aural warnings associated with the System Test switch.  This video also includes a lights test which lights up every switch including the indicator lights on the FGC.  It is a long video but it captures 99% of anything you might hear in a Lear45 cockpit.  A very informative video without a word spoken!

Thank you Dugald for all your time and help with this project!

Always happy to help out! The Learjet design is truly an awesome bit of engineering. They are a lot of fun to fly.

Hey guys,

Dugald sent me a link to his Google photo account and wanted me to share this with you.

As you know, Dugald is a real world Lear45 pilot and is more than willing to give us a helping hand with photo request and inside information of how things work within the cockpit.  If you have any questions or photo request just ask!
